What are Gap Free check ups?
-In most cases, health insurance companies pay only a portion of your dental costs. We significantly discount our check -up & clean fees in order to offer gap-free for most health funds. The gap fee, which you would be expected to pay at most dental practices, is mostly subsidised by us. You won't have to worry about the hassle of claiming a rebate from your health fund, and there is normally no gap, or a smaller gap to pay.
Gap-free check ups include a range of preventive dental treatments including examinations, scale and cleans, x-rays and topical fluoride treatments, if the health funds cover is sufficient. As you may know, regular check-ups are a key factor in maintaining good oral health throughout your life. Our Gap Free services are designed to help our patients access this important routine care with no or minimal out-of-pocket cost, if the health fund covers a minimum of $180 for a basic check-up & clean - which the majority of health fund covers do. If you haven't reached your dental limit, have a valid dental health insurance, you can call us or drop in to our clinic to check - with either a digital card or the presentation of a health fund card (with magnetic strip for HICAPS). If your insurance includes dental extras cover, then you are probably eligible. Which health funds? We understand that everyone has different healthcare providers and levels of cover. That's why we discount the gap on any eligible private health insurance with dental cover, if they pay a minimum of our special fees! Just bring your health fund card on the day, and we will swipe it through our HICAPS electronic claiming system on the spot. We accept HCF, Medibank, BUPA, NIB, AHM, Teachers Health Fund, Defence Health, Peoplecare, CBHS, Frank Health Insurance, GU Health, Westfund, health.com.au, Australian Unity, Doctors Health Fund, and many more!

Why do I need regular check ups?
In most cases, people choose not to visit the dentist until they notice a problem. If don't visit unless you have a bad toothache or a cracked tooth, you'll save money—right?
Wrong! If you only see your dentist when you notice a problem, then chances are your condition has already fully developed. Typically, that means more advanced and more costly treatment than if you had caught the problem early. Catching problems early saves you money, helps you avoid advanced procedures, and often saves you a considerable amount of pain. This is why dentists recommend scheduling regular dental checkups—preferably every 6 months. Regular checkups allow the dentist to keep track of your oral health, and pick up on dental issues in their early stages. For example, if your dentist finds a buildup of plaque on your teeth, they can give you a scale and clean before the plaque has a chance to create a cavity. If a dentist notices inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), they will be able to suggest corrective oral health routines and lifestyle changes to prevent it from progressing to periodontitis (gum disease). The more serious a dental condition is, the more costly it is to correct. So when it comes to dental health, preventive care is the way to go! |
